Course description

An introductory course to electronic music production. Students will use audio software such as Ableton Live, basic synthesis, MIDI, effects, vocals and samples. Bring your own laptop. Maximum 6 people per group

This introductory course explores electronic music production and sound design using accessible tools. Students will learn the basics of sound and music technology, as well as the history of electronic music through examples from different styles. They will also learn how to create their own electronic music project from scratch, including sequencing, sound design and mixing. In addition, the course will cover how to publish projects through platforms such as Bandcamp and others.

Tuesday 15 September, Wednesday 16 September and Thursday 17 September, from 11:00 to 14:00 + 1 hour of individual private tuition, on a date to be arranged.

Tuesday 22 September, Wednesday 23 September and Thursday 24 September, from 18:00 to 21:00 + 1 hour of individual private tuition, on a date to be arranged.

Tuesday 22 September, Wednesday 23 September and Thursday 24 September, from 11:00 to 14:00 + 1 hour of individual private tuition, on a date to be arranged.

Monday 28 September, Tuesday 29 September and Wednesday 30 September, from 18:00 to 21:00 + 1 hour of individual private tuition, on a date to be arranged.

Price and booking

€90, with a €20 deposit via Bizum to 611 013 428, which will be deducted from the total price.

Requirements

  • You will need your own computer with Ableton Live installed

  • Bring your own headphones

  • A mobile phone for recording audio is enough, and if you have a MIDI controller, bring it along
